I am a 40 year old assistant lecturer in University of Miskolc, Hungary. I live in Miskolc too. My hobby is the collection and restoration of hungarian vintage radios. I am a small collector of antique radio sets - I currently have approximately 3-4 dozen radios in my collection (pict01 , pict02 , pict03 , pict04 , pict05 , pict06 , pict07) - and interested in wireless and broadcast history. My first interest was wood table radios from the 1950s and 1960s, but my interests eventually broadened to include bakelite and plastic radios, as well as radios from the 1940s, 70s, and even transistor radios from the 60s.

Why do I collect old radios? These radios are art. To their designers, appearance was as important as function. The radios I've collected appeal to me visually the way no modern appliance does. Each cabinet design was an artist's statement. I ask myself why design and marketing decisions were made, what programs were heard through these very radios. I think about how our culture was transformed by these devices. This home page is dedicated to that pursuit.
